Mental Health Therapist | Media, PA

If you’ve been experiencing challenges with your mental health, seeking mental health treatment is a great option. However, looking for a professional counselor or therapist can be time-consuming. Suppose you are in the Philadelphia area or the nearby suburbs; an excellent opportunity for therapy for you is Katie Ryan, LPC, NCC -- a therapist who works with clients in Media, PA, and the surrounding areas.

How often should you go to therapy?

Every person’s therapy experience is different based on what they are seeking treatment for and how much time they are willing to dedicate to it. Therapy sessions often last between 45 minutes to an hour. Depending on the severity of the mental illness or mental health challenge, a person might see a therapist as often as once or twice a week. There are also biweekly or monthly options.

How do I know my therapist is right for me?

Finding a good therapist is about developing a trusting and collaborative relationship with them. Being able to feel comfortable around your therapist is an essential part of seeking therapy. Usually, it’s relatively easy to tell whether or not you will bond with your therapist within the first few sessions. In Katie’s office, she takes the therapeutic relationship very seriously. She uses an empathic treatment style, focusing on empowering the person’s strengths rather than trying to “fix” their mental health.

What services does Katie offer?

Katie offers telehealth therapy services to individuals, couples, and families. She takes a person-centered approach and uses cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, among other treatments. She also has experience working with both adolescent and adult populations who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, adjustment disorders, and bipolar disorder.

How much does it cost to go to therapy?

Telehealth sessions with Katie are $150.00 each. At this time, her office does not accept health insurance plans. However, some insurance plans provide payment assistance for mental health treatment. Contact your insurance company for more information on how to complete this process.
